For chumby (2008.04) †

$ tar xvfz xvidcore-1.1.3.tar.gz
$ cd xvidcore-1.1.3/build/generic
$ ./configure --prefix={your_work_DIR} --build=i686-linux --host=arm-linux
$ make 
$ make install
